Well there was a war on communism i think North Vietnam wanted to be Communism or either South Vietnam, but then US came in and made it a "war". It actually was never declared a war
alot of stuff, in my personal option i think it was for the climite anf the agurcutual commidys they had, such as rubber trees and rice fields, commidys such as that really grows good there, i also think it was from ties with south vietnam
