Ionotropic effect
An ionotropic effect is a
reaction that describes the effect of a neurotransmitter or hormone on a neural
receptor. The presence of neurotransmitters or hormones activates or
deactivates the ionotropic receptors in order to cause a depolarization or
hyperpolarization which is positive or negative reactions.
