why is it colder in siberia in winter than at the north pole?

I am not exactly sure but from my knowledge I would say Siberia is the only part of Russia located in the Arctic circle. It is the farthest part of Russia from the equator, and is therefore colder. Western Russia is closer to the equator and receives more sunlight and warmth than Siberia.
