For relevant California laws a good place to look is the FindLaw website: statelaws.findlaw.com/california-law.html.
The FindLaw website contains user-friendly summaries of California laws as well as citations or links to relevant sections of California's statutes.
For relevant Federal Laws and Regulations a useful website is USA.gov. USA.gov allows users to learn some of the basics about U.S. laws, regulations, and executive orders and discover resources to find out more.
