For this equation, we will start will point slope form then translate it into slope intercept form. If the line is parallel to y=-7x+3, then the slope will by -7 because parallel lines have the same slope.
Point slope form: [tex]y- y_{1} =m(x- x_{1} )[/tex]
Will will substitute 1 in for [tex] x_{1} [/tex] any -2 in for [tex] y_{1} [/tex] and -7 in for m.
y+2=-7(x-1)
Distribute -7:
y+2=-7x+7
Subtract 2 from each side.
y=-7x+5
