Since both figures are similar, we have the following proportions:

[tex]\frac{HP}{GD}=\frac{PT}{DS}[/tex]

in this case, we have that HP=4, GD=8, PT=6 and DS=12, then we have:

[tex]\frac{4}{8}=\frac{6}{12}[/tex]

the ratio in its simplest form is 1/2, since:

[tex]\frac{6}{12}=\frac{4}{8}=\frac{1}{2}[/tex]
