explain the similiarities and differences between independent and subordinate clauses.

The difference between the two is that an independent clause can stand alone as a sentence: it has a subject, a verb, and is a complete thought. While a subordinate clause cannot because it is not a complete thought. But, they are similar as they both have a subject, and a verb.
