Adolescence is the period in life before transitioning to adulthood. This often means that anybody who experienced puberty and is that age up to the age of official adulthood is an adolescent. This also is a stage in life, similar to being an infant, toddler, preteen, and a teenager. Everybody at one point becomes an adolescent unless your life ends before that point.
