Unfortunately, at this point, we don't know exactly how it is caused. And it seems to vary depending on the type of cancer. Research shows that you are certainly more likely to have cancer if you have a family history of it. Research also shows, however, that certain experiences (like smoking or exposure to radiation) also cause cancer to occur.
