Families did a few things to help, if its multiple choice, you should put it. But according to online (and what I know) people had volunteered to go to war and fight. That was a major thing, they were at risk to lose their lives. This was not the best tho because fighting, didnt really help for economy wise issues. Another thing would be that families had purchased war bonds and other things and also by saving stamps! Saving stamps is the last one. These 3 seem to be the answer.
