A great tip my math intervention teacher gave me was to factor out both the denominator (top) and the numerator (bottom)
for example 20 factors out to 2*2*5
and 94 factors out to 2*47
you can cross out 1 two in the top and in the bottom or "big ones"
so you'd end up with 2*5/47 not you just multiply the top
2*5= 10 and keep the 47 as your denominator so your answer is
10/ 47
