The major difference between the Persians and the Romans is religion. The Romans were polythiestic with Greco-Roman gods while the Persians were monothiestic Zoroastrians who worshipped Ahura Mazda. Later on, the Romans became Christian while the Persians eventually became Muslim after the Islamic Expansion.
