x=2 and y= 4

y = 3x -2--------(ii)

Now, comparing (i) and (ii)

x+2= 3x-2

=>x-3x = -2-2

=>-2x= -4

=>2x= 4

=>x= 2

From eq (i)

y= x+2 = 2+2= 4
