Kublai Khan came to power in 1260. By 1271, he had renamed the Yuan Dynasty Empire and conquered the Song Dynasty and, with it, all of China.

Kublai also named himself Emperor of China to conquer millions of Chinese subjects.

With this success, the Mongols became the first non-Chinese people to conquer all Chinese territories.
